Who is responsible for your health and happiness? You are. Who cares most about your well-being? You do. It is your responsibility to make sense of your symptoms—to not only understand them, but to understand what is causing them. The only way to understand your symptoms is to record, track, and monitor them.
The designer of the app was in a tragic Snowboarding accident in January 2017. In July of 2017, the choice was made to amputate the designer’s right arm above the elbow. The designer has extreme Phantom Pain in the missing arm, excruciating Complex Regional Pain Syndrome in the portion of the arm that remained and the entire right side of his body as well. As one could imagine, his lifestyle and happiness levels changed. Depression set in. He decided he would start to track his happiness and health symptoms to see if he could improve the quality of his life.
In a matter of weeks, he was able to improve his happiness and health dramatically. He was able to improve communication with his wife which in-turn improved her happiness.
He went to work designing an app that would make it easier for him to continue tracking symptoms. He needed an app with a minimum number of keystrokes and buttons since he was now a newly left-handed person in a world with phones and tablets made for two hands.
