Knowledge, Schematic Subwoofer and Box Subwoofer design
What is a Subwoofer?
A subwoofer is a type of individual device in a loudspeaker that contributes to sound creation, has a cone-shaped diaphragm, and is usually used to produce mid and low frequency parts of a music signal.
The first subwoofer was developed in 1960 to add bass response to home stereo systems. Subwoofers became popular in the 1970s with the introduction of the sensurround system, a system for enhancing audio that produces loud sounds from low frequencies through the subwoofer.
Usually the subwoofer is used to reproduce low-pitched bass audio frequencies. The specific frequency range for a subwoofer is around 20–200 Hz for consumer products, below 100 Hz for more professional sound, and below 80 Hz in THX-approved systems.
This subwoofer is intended to add vulnerable low frequency loudspeakers that include higher frequency bands. A subwoofer is made for one or more loudspeaker transducers in a loudspeaker cabinet that is able to withstand air pressure against deformation.
In the 1990s, subwoofers became popular in home stereo systems, car audio costume installations, and in Power Amplifier systems. In the 2000s, subwoofers became universal in sound reinforcement systems (a combination of microphones, signal processors, amplifiers and loudspeakers that make live sounds) at nightclubs and concert venues.
